It seems as though the subject of climate change is constantly in the news.

At Nationwide Traffic Solutions we continually monitor and improve our environmental practices. We are aware of the impact the traffic management industry has on the environment and as a result aim to reduce unnecessary waste and pollution where possible. We’ve adopted an effective environmental policy encouraging our team to do their bit in their office and on the road. This includes paper-free working using our system MyMobileWorkers and our fleet of low-emission vans used to administer traffic management schemes. To prove our dedication we’re accredited to NHSS 12A/B and 12D, ISO 14001 and FORS Bronze.

At NTS we are keen to encourage other businesses to go ‘green’ by following our tips:

Be travel savvy.  Our team avoid making unnecessary journeys and encourage email or video calls to reduce trips. Leave the car at home and walk, cycle or use public transport where possible. If your workplace isn’t within walking or cycling distance, invite colleagues to car share. This will reduce your carbon footprint and vehicle emissions, plus save you fuel money!

Save energy. Did you know lighting an empty office overnight wastes energy to heat enough water for 1000 cups of coffee? We switch off all appliances at the end of the day, plus adjust our heating consumption and use energy efficient equipment.

Recycle. We recycle all plastic, metals, cardboard and paper. Did you know you can recycle things like clothing, mobile phones, used water filters and batteries? If you’re unsure whether an item can be recycled, we’ve found a guide that can help: https://www.recyclenow.com/what-to-do-with

Paper-free policy. We operate a ‘paper-free’ policy and our operatives access all documents via our paper-free system MyMobileWorkers. In your workplace, swap ‘snail’ mail for emails, and if documents must be printed, print using black ink or double sided.
